Germany vs. China

We wanted to buy knives made in Germany, Sweden or the USA. We didn't want to buy knives made in China. The label on the knife says "German Steel" and the packaging says "Made in China". So what is it? Dissatisfied with the seller's marketing approach. Sounds deceptive.
