Top Quality, Made in America, Many Features

This was my first Mag-Hytec and I was so impressed I bought one for one Ford in my fleet. Sure, they're not cheap, but: If you ever decide to sell the car, you can probably take it off, pop the old cover, and sell it online for a decent price. Made in America! Well made and powder coated. Heat-dissipating fins and aluminum help when towing. Increasing the oil volume can also help extend the life of the oil. the probe is great. In addition to checking the fluid level, you can also check the magnet on the dipstick to see if anything bad has happened there recently. The main magnet is at the bottom of the drain plug, but cannot be checked. Until the day of the fluid change. The dipstick hole at the top is also a very handy fill hole, at least on the first generation Durango. There is a "test" hole on the stamped steel pan level with the factory fill hole, so remove this plug (in the shiny, unpainted area that says MAG HYTEC) and when it starts to overflow you're full. (Assuming your axle is in the stem angle, etc. etc.) This can make changing the fluid very easy as there is both a drain hole and a simple fill hole, but I'm too high maintenance and I'm worried so I'll do that Inspect and clean pan pull and clean factory magnet. And there's not much penalty for removing the sump for it, because an o-ring seal (living in a machined groove in the sump) means your RTV fumbling days are behind you! I like to keep things private so on both of my Mag-Hytecs I've scratched, masked, primed and painted the shiny rib edges, rectangular Mag-Hyetc logo and hex head screws and washers and it's held up really well for over two years held / tens of thousands of miles. (Except for the screw heads and the knurled area of the needle.) So not cheap, but I find it very valuable for long-time owners or hard-working users.
