Review on California Car Duster 62447 8B Mini by Jess Gunderson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good product, not sure due to previous negative reviews

I have used the California Duster on other cars in the past and loved how it vacuums up dust and dirt and doesn't scratch my trim. I've moved away from super anal car detailing over the past few years, but with the recent purchase of a brand new 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, my car wish list, which includes Revain, has grown and another California Duster has been added to the top of the 'Really' . wanted list. I still have my old original California Duster and it works great (like a fine wine, gets better with age) but I was mainly interested in this smaller one for the interior. I have a dark grey/charcoal interior with a pattern that almost feels 'tacky' due to the lack of the word 'water'. Using a microfiber cloth doesn't clean the dust very well, and the other cloth I have here works well on the radio console and steering wheel, but not on the dashboard itself. Despite some negative reviews, I decided to give it a try. after the recent price drop. I bought it for $4.63 when I decided I didn't have much to lose. I put it on a stack of newspapers on the porch for two days as suggested. After that I made some really good shakes and then ran my fingers through the fibers a few times to get lost ones. This seemed to help as I had no issues with red fibers running around or the pad falling apart as I had read in previous reviews. Shortly thereafter, I went out to the car and cleaned the outside and inside. Shake it a few times and it seemed to work great on the dash which has been PITA since I bought the car. After that I brought it inside and used it to wipe down my entire first floor of my house. Including behind my TV and entertainment center, above my refrigerator and in all other places that are normally covered with dust. Worked like clockwork, absorbed everything and never let go. Well I have to say, just like its older brother, the original, it works like a charm. For those having other issues like red fibers all over the place I would recommend following the steps listed above, it worked great for me and I now have a great little rag that I paid less than $5 for. IMO you can't beat that.
