I am very glad I got it while it was on sale. I already have a working one but it was so huge and so difficult to clean and the tray inserts broke easily. Every time I was done with it, it would take me a long time to put it down and get it from the kitchen. I need a smaller food dehydrator that I can keep on the counter as I often dry a lot but with my already limited worktop space in the small kitchen I still need room for other things in the kitchen. This little guy is amazing! The perfect size, so small and light that I have a shelf on the counter to sit it on so I can store other stuff underneath! (and it still fits under my kitchen cabinets above). It's easy to clean and the stainless steel mesh trays are an improvement over the chunky plastic trays and are easier to clean without breaking! It's also an enclosed space, and if you're occasionally infested with small bugs here and there, it keeps your food and dehydrator away from them even when not in use. My only gripe is that the timer and heat are much more limited than even the cheap ones, causing me to adjust all my degrees and times in my recipes, but that doesn't matter. Although I preferred to leave it overnight while I slept. It doesn't last all night, so plan it as a daytime use, like a slow cooker, and if that's not enough, add more time. If you're looking for a dehydrator, I'd highly recommend this one, even for a beginner. Don't mess with those plastic bottles, they're annoying the first time you use them. I'm a single person and it had enough space for a family of 2. Maybe 2 adults and a small child or "a selfless teenager who still occasionally snacks on something dehydrated just because he is" but not really big enough for more than 2.5 people. If you live in one of these vans and are considering getting a dehydrator, its compact size and ability to fit into a small space is what you need. I have already made sticky jelly, meat for cats and dogs in general. for storing food, flavored fruit snacks, etc., all of which are much easier to clean than plastic. And if you just wipe the interior since it's white, you can see if there's anything left. Very good. Thumbs up.
