The computer started displaying blue screens with a variety of problem codes. The software was initially thought to be the source of the problems; however, even after extensive rollbacks and a subsequent fresh installation of Windows, the issues persisted. In specifically, the official Gigabyte SSD Toolbox software was used to verify the SSD firmware; the utility determined that the firmware to be SBFM61.2; nevertheless, the utility did not propose to update the firmware. I began by inspecting all of the gear, including the RAM and the connectors, and eventually discovered that the SSD was the source of the problem, given that it also caused blue screens on another computer whose configuration was functional. I double-checked the SSD with Victoria, and there are no issues to report. As a consequence of this, I stumbled upon the existence of a more recent firmware for this SSD, designated SBFM61.3, and proceeded to install it with the help of the official Phison utility. The chip for this utility is already present on the disk (PS3111). In the meantime, Gigabyte support made an offer to ship the drive back to the retailer from where it was purchased so that they could verify its authenticity.
