The SANSUI 22-inch 1080p Monitor (ES-22F1) is the epitome of a basic monitor, priced at $80 (with a $30 discount coupon at the time of this review), which is where it positions itself compared to the competition. As a 22-inch panel, one could imagine the Sansui as a 2010 monitor. In fact, it's not a bad comparison as the build quality, panel size and OSD seem right for the time. However, expectations would be exceeded that the panel is IPS (with decent viewing angles as you'd expect), the bezel is quite small and you have an LED backlight (rather than CCFL). Peak brightness and backlight uniformity/leakage are low as one would expect at this price point. Overall, the Sansui is a good monitor for occasional use. It is also suitable as a retro monitor as it has an analogue VGA input. I've tried a couple of old single monitor VGAs (Oak, Trident and Matrox) and the A2D circuitry worked surprisingly well. recommended
