I got the same nozzle when I bought Kirby years ago. We were renovating and didn't have a normal wet/dry vacuum. We had plaster dust everywhere and Kirby was all I had. properly collected dust. But as you know, gypsum dust is very fine or even powdery. I wanted to clean the hose so I flushed it with water. But at the same time I thought that I need to dry the water from the inside. So, without hesitation, I attached a dry brush to blow it with warm air to evaporate the excess water. The water dried up, but the heat from the dryer melted the part that attaches to the vacuum cleaner. Do I have to say more? And Kirby, who are expensive beasts, has expensive spare parts. So two things: 1) Don't use heat near the hose, even if you think it's just heat. 2) Buy a small store-bought vacuum for $30. It's cheaper than a $50 hose and does a better job. The smaller Shop Vacs are really small but pack a lot of power.
