These filters are of excellent quality, with many pleats and metal reinforced filter media. I am very pleased with the filter performance at a price that is cheaper per filter than many of its competitors. However, there is one very big and egregious bug that will make me look elsewhere for the next filter. For some reason the manufacturer makes these filters much smaller than their nominal size. For example, the filter 20x30x1" is actually described as 19-5/8x29-5/8x3/4". This is almost half an inch less than the nominal length and width! For comparison, the Filtrete 800 MPR filters I bought are actually 19-13/16 x 29-13/16 x 13/16 inches. the place itself. No one would have thought that the 3/16" smaller Nordic Pure filters would make a huge difference, but a poor fit is such an issue that it outweighs the filters' better value and good performance. The result is that the Nordic Pure filter is too small to fit in a standard filter housing.I had to cut my own cardboard spacers from the leftover packaging box and press them into the housing to hold this filter in. As you might imagine this is difficult and frustrating for a ceiling air recirculation The alternative is a loose fitting filter that sucks up (with a loud noise) every time the HVAC fan starts up and then every time the fan shuts down, falls down (with another loud noise. This is especially annoying at night! This part of the air is directed around the filter and not through it like the dust on the filter housing shows behind a filter I discovered on a recent swap. small and I can't understand why Nordic Pure made them so small. Surely there aren't thousands of people who can't fit full-size filters in their air recirculation, are there? I'm disappointed because I love everything about NordicPure filters (value, filter quality, made in the USA, high quality materials), but the unusually small size outweighs the benefits.
