Great end result but questionable quality

If the puzzle had all the pieces it would easily get 4 stars. we noticed when unpacking this piece of the puzzle. The card consists of 3 elements: 1. Standard parts2. Foam topography map3. Plastic Case The stock parts are decent, some were glued together and suffered minor damage unless a razor blade was used to separate them. Some of the pieces appeared to be crushed or bent and required some care before being placed on the puzzle. If the standard pieces were the only piece of the puzzle I would be very disappointed in the quality. The styrofoam pieces definitely add some fun to the puzzle. However, they are fully attached and must be disassembled to enjoy the puzzle piece. I ended up taking the pieces apart, shuffling them together, and then setting the puzzle aside for a day to try and honestly put it back together. Another annoying thing is dealing with fluffy or curved foam that doesn't lay flat. The instructions state that before making the foam pieces we should apply puzzle glue to the standard pieces and then use the included double sided tape to keep the foam pieces flat. I don't usually plan on permanently displaying or storing my jigsaw puzzles, so I have to deal with curved pieces of foam. Another annoyance was the missing piece, but luckily this wasn't critical for the third piece of the puzzle. The plastic buildings make this puzzle game a masterpiece. I was a little overwhelmed by the number of buildings included in this map, but they turned out to be one of the most satisfying pieces of the puzzle. I was able to place buildings that were easy to find, but ended up with open spaces that looked almost identical and could fit multiple buildings in the same hole. That's when I noticed that each building is numbered and one of the cards included in the box has a corresponding number that indicates where each building is located. At first I thought it was a scam but I found it quite difficult to find the house number on the map. The plastic buildings helped solve some of the styrofoam issues, but it was still annoying. In the end the puzzle looks great and I really liked it. There are definitely some quality issues, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a very good time with this puzzle. I'm hesitant to make another puzzle in this style due to the problems I've encountered, but I'm glad I enjoyed what I was able to. building numbers showing "New York" and looking like iconic NYC buildings) so I wouldn't get this puzzle and the NYC version.
