I took the risk of ordering this product even though I knew what it was for. I wanted to black out the blinds in my rented apartment. Please note my umbrella is a synthetic woven mesh material. I had to do it without damaging anything. The product is sticky so be careful not to touch the backing. Once applied, it is easy to remove and reapply, but you will see that some glue residue will remain. The ruler grid on the back is disabled. Each 4" section is actually 3 7/8" so be sure to use your own ruler. On first application the product was very smooth with almost no bubbles. Now I bought the product with the intention of shutting it down most of the time. I adjusted my curtains so the paper roll was in the same direction it was sent. Just a few minutes after the curtains were rolled up I pulled them back down to reveal many creases but the paper was still in most places. Conclusion - I used this product in a way that I didn't know would work. I found my cheap solution satisfactory.
