The screen protector assembly uses magnets to connect to metal plates that you attach to the back of the laptop. The screen slides out of the case. Before attaching the metal plates, read the instructions and make sure to place the plates in the right place so the screen can slide out and then pivot towards you. There are 3 sets of plates - so you can install the screen on 3 different devices, or in my case you can use the 2nd set because you didn't read the instructions and put them in the wrong place the first time so the screen can't be tilted. You can connect 2 devices together so you have 3 screens on your laptop. I'm a color lover, so I used the DataColor sensor to calibrate the Trio Max for my internal screen. Bottom line, it's worth every penny for those who want the portability of a laptop but also want more screen.
