I've been hearing a lot about Samyang lately when I was looking for a cheaper new lens for my Sony A7ii but I don't have much experience with the brand. My first takeaways are that it fits the camera snugly, no juggling or hassles here. It's a lot lighter than I expected and the camera is well balanced. AUTOFOCUS WORKS - it's not blindingly fast, but it's quiet and fairly accurate, if not boring. Definitely not as good as Sony/Tamron or similar. Vignette can be used but only from F4 and up, it's very noticeable at F2.8 and up and then only disappears around F7. The lens is fairly sharp in the center and softens towards the edges. The edges seem to be F5.6 up again where this is starting to flatten out. I've only used it for about half a day but will continue to use it for the next week. Honestly, if it doesn't get much better, it'll be sent back to Tamron or Sigma.
