I tried 2 of them.

First there was an open box of Revain Whse. Disgusting resolution, especially at the edges. The second was brand new but my cameras (A7 ii, a6400) couldn't see it. It was as if the camera had no lens. No AF, nothing. No picture could be taken. Both returned. 2 strikes and "You're out!" You might have better luck. I have a Samyang 12mm AF for my a6400 and it's a champ. 18mm FF is not that much.

Great value for money, very light and small

For the price you pay this is a great little lens. I bought this specifically for backpacking and backpacking when I need a wide angle lens but would rather save some weight. Normally my camera is set at 24-105 but sometimes I want to make it a little wider or a little faster (Astro) so this lens fits the bill and saves me almost a pound compared to my 16 inch lens. 35GP. I find the image quality to be excellent, but there are certain downsides, but I won't go into detail. Whether you're anโ€ฆ

Promising but NOT sharp

I've been hearing a lot about Samyang lately when I was looking for a cheaper new lens for my Sony A7ii but I don't have much experience with the brand. My first takeaways are that it fits the camera snugly, no juggling or hassles here. It's a lot lighter than I expected and the camera is well balanced. AUTOFOCUS WORKS - it's not blindingly fast, but it's quiet and fairly accurate, if not boring. Definitely not as good as Sony/Tamron or similar. Vignette can be used but only from F4 and upโ€ฆ

Great value for money

Bought this lens primarily for astrophotography. After trying it out in Death Valley National Park in February this year, I am very impressed with its performance. Daytime landscape shots are also quite clear. Advantages: 1) Extremely light. It replaces my existing Astro Rokinon 14mm 2.8 + Sigma MC-11 lens which weighs around 700 grams. This lens is very light 2) Auto focus is fast and accurate 3) Distortion is low for wide angle 4) Coma is well controlled Cons: 1) Build quality is okay, lensโ€ฆ

Fantastic lightweight ultra wide angle lens for Sony FE!

Update 10/23/2019 So I got another copy of this lens and it turned out to be much sharper at F2.8, especially in the center. I'm much happier with the new one which is why I'm giving it 5 stars now.**************** This lens is so light my Sony A7RII leans back! At F2.8 it's pretty soft and the corners are even softer. But turn it down to F4.0 and the center gets really sharp! Corners become sharp at F8.0 or F11.0. I didn't see any chromatic aberration issues in my brief test. I even comparedโ€ฆ

Excellent value for money

This lens offers good value for money, although there are many compromises. It is not weatherproof and looks very plastic. However, this allows it to be very small and light. Image quality is very good, resolution is better at f4 or faster than my a7 III. The IQ at f/2.8 is very sharp in the center, but the field's slight curvature means the corners won't match flat test charts or the "brick wall" test (although it will be fine and crisp for most applications ). I personally prefer fieldโ€ฆ

This lens is NOT sharp.

The lens is all plastic except for the mount and is very light which while a plus for some feels like a cheap plastic toy. The autofocus works well, as does everything else on my Sony A7RII camera. The lens is built in smoothly, with no play. Manual focus by cable but works well enough. Optically, the lens leaves a lot to be desired. Overall contrast and color saturation are low, which can be okay in some situations but generally doesn't work. At 2.8 the lens is not sharp so this setting isโ€ฆ
