04/28/2018 So I have requested a refund and replacement. The problem is that a first order device was installed so I couldn't remove it as that would leave an inoperable machine. So they sent replacements. YOU KNOW WHAT, HE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. The chip does not prevent the vehicle from starting until the reprogramming sequence, and the chip does not respond to the reprogramming! Complete nonsense. If I wanted to bypass the "thieves security system" I could replace the original key with a two dollar key! In any case, the CPM reprogramming sequence has gone through and the light is still on. This means that the anti-theft chip in the key does not activate General Motors' Passloc system. The key should not start the car if the key was active with Passloc, I can use the car as is but 1.) the anti-theft device is disabled, 2.) the anti-theft device warning light does not go out, 3.) GM Passloc and the key cylinder are notoriously unreliable If I leave it with a chip failure, how do I know if another failure shows up and I'm in a bind because the key won't start the car?
