I took a chance based on reviews saying they work with standard cable connectors and I'm here to say they work. I wasn't sure if I wanted to use the new heat shrink connectors and I had heat shrink tubing so I got them and now I'm ready for any of them. They grip and release easily, I don't know why others say they don't release easily, but just used them as is. I'm glad I finally bought another tool, it's a lot better than that old crimping tool and I've used it with 22 gauge wire and matching red connectors and got a fully closed crimp. wire was not pulled.
