I am pregnant and experiencing a lot of foot and ankle swelling while sitting at my desk job. I have found compression socks to be extremely helpful in preventing this from happening and was looking for something a little more appropriate/discreet to wear to work. I ordered the open toe stockings as they did not have the full stocking in my size. I've been wearing them several times a week for about 3 weeks now.Pros: They definitely do reduce swelling and look more professional than other compression socks. These stockings allow me to wear my regular work shoes (as opposed to sneakers) and the nude color is discreet. From an aesthetic perspective, these are much better for work than other compression socks.Cons: I do not like the open toe. I can't really imagine a scenario where the wide lighter colored band at the toe would not be visible in shoes, either open or closed toe. Furthermore, on several occasions, my toes have gotten very swollen while the rest of my foot remained relatively normal. While they do reduce swelling overall, I don't think they do as good of a job as my other compression socks (not stockings), which are the same compression level. Some days, I still experience swelling in these stockings, though not to the degree I would without them and often have deep skin creases at the ankles by the end of the day, which I do not experience in regular compression socks. Finally, I was disappointed to discover I had created a run in one of the stockings while putting it on after just a week of wear.I would order the closed toed version again, primarily for the aesthetic appeal of wearing these vs standard compression socks, but I would not order the open toed version again.
