Review on 🔧 Dorman 902-001 Automotive Water Pump for Engines by Bryan Ramirez

I purchased this product to replace a defective MECS pump on my 2007 Mercury Mariner Hybrid. I should have known the price was too high to be true (the OEM replacement pump was $400 more). The manufacturer and Revain claim that this pump is a replacement pump for my vehicle as well as other years of Mercury Mariner/Ford Escape hybrids. I don't know about other model years, but the bracket on this replacement pump didn't even come close to matching the bracket on my car - it was the wrong orientation and hole pattern. I spotted this late Friday night and couldn't wait for the weekend to actually fit one so I had to fabricate another bracket. After installation, the pump worked perfectly and solved my overheating problem. If it had installed as intended I would have given it 5 stars but having to make a custom mount when it was supposed to be a replacement only gets 3. Overall this is a good pump and much better value for money as an OEM replacement. If you can confirm that the included mount will fit your car, or don't mind building your own, I would recommend this pump as a great way to save $400.
