This set is about what you'd expect from an off-brand construction set, especially a complex one.The good: the kid (5 years old) could put together the twelve construction vehicles by himself. It was complex and took him time, but he could do it. I think the company should get a bonus for throwing in "the tool" (LEGO folks will know what I mean).The bad: the robot (the main pictures on the box) was. more complicated. Obviously that's going to be the case, given how many pieces are involved. But it was more complicated to the point that the less-than-helpful instructions kind-of got in the way at times. What's more, the kit seemed to be short on a few pieces. Fortunately none of them were essential (and we could have supplemented with Legos if we'd wanted to), and it's entirely possible that they went missing during the transition from construction trucks to giant robot. But I suspect that the pieces just weren't there to begin with.Also, the box was damaged in shipping, which I think is probably more a UPS issue than a block company issue.Long review short: this is a decent enough set and will occupy your kid appropriately, but be prepared to help and maybe be a bit frustrated with the more complex constructs.Update: The company reached out and offered to replace the set--so props for good customer service here!
