The shop wanted to charge me $700 to replace the fuel pump on my 2007 Nissan Quest. No thank you. A few YouTube videos and 2 days delivery of this pump and I started changing it myself. No need to drop the tank or screw on the exhaust pipe. The Quest has a hatch under the bucket seat on the driver's side. To get there you need to remove the middle two seats, remove the step pads on either side and unscrew the carpet. I'd say the whole process took an hour at most, and I spent most of my time removing the stupid retaining ring. . If there isn't a dedicated tool for this, I would recommend gradually squeezing the ring tip and attachment tip tighter together with channel lock pliers until it eventually disengages. I didn't get this idea until I put the ring back on, but it should work both ways. Another point: I thought the electrical plug was in and tried to start the van, but found it took a lot more force than I expected to actually plug it in. I don't know how long it will last yet, but even if it's 40,000 miles, it's $40 and it took 1 hour to fix! In my experience, a Nissan is scrap after 100,000 miles (that's 150,000) anyway, the rest of the van will die before that.
