Review on OutBack MATE Digital Display Control by Shane Hartford

This controller will not work on a boat as it will easily fall off the wall it is attached to. The attachment system is designed similar to a $2.50 kid's toy. The device itself is probably fine, it's the way it attaches to the wall that certainly fails on a boat or moving vehicle. Outback doesn't seem to want to admit that they have bad controller design. Shame on you. Outback is reluctant to admit a flaw in any of their products, which is clearly the case with the Mate mounting system. I was then told the Outback has a 2 or 5 year warranty, they weren't sure but cannot be returned without the original packaging. Who keeps their packaging boxes for two years? I do not think so. Really poorly designed mounting system and terrible warranty. Keep the original packaging, you must be kidding. Sorry for Outback, they will not endorse their products. You are trying to talk to someone on the phone and you will spend a lot of time in front of someone. Very disappointed customer.
