Replacing the decent but not great (in terms of noise) fan that came with my 7th Cooler Master 212 CPU cooler was obvious easier than I feared. There are several videos on YouTube on how to do this and the process took about 15 minutes. The process was complicated by the addition of a fan speed controller, but it was mostly the cable. So far so good. The big surprise came when I turned on the computer after the installation was complete. Nothing has happened. I checked everything and lo and behold, the newly installed fan was spinning (this creates a nice pattern of concentric circles) and there was NO SOUND from the computer at all. Please understand that I build low-power computers that rarely have processor temperatures above room temperature. (But these computers work great. I don't play.) So far very, very happy with this purchase. Congratulations to the Be Quiet team!
