Revainrating 4 out of 5

Almost perfect - handle with care

I bought a weighted flywheel slider and a parallax motion slider. I would give both 4. I haven't found a way to look at them separately. Flywheel Slider: I really fell in love with this slider and, like other reviewers, found that the weighted slide mechanism allows for remarkably smooth movement. The material feels great too, including the camera mount's soft rubber base. However, the problem for me was that the fastening screw was stuck in the tripod head. A 1/4" screw with a 3/8" adapter and despite my hatred that this rig would get stuck in the 3/8 port I took a chance and attached the camera tripod head to the mount. Plate. My very funny test session ended in sheer horror when the fastening screw came out of the base and wouldn't come out of my tripod head. I managed to loosen the mounting screw and almost thought I'd lost a good tripod head before resorting to a puller to remove the adapter. I still look at the slider with a lot of love, but I'm very concerned that this issue might reoccur in the future. If I could give partial stars it would be 3.5 due to the poor design of the mounting screw and base linkage but being forced to do so I will add 0.5 for the quality of the clasp itself. If you can endure a gentle and light handling and be careful not to screw the camera or tripod head onto the base too much, you can enjoy the sliding motion. I also like that it's a bit more compact and lighter. compared to other weighted sliders. Parallax Sliders: To be honest, if I hadn't experienced the flywheel sliders I might have given this one a 5, but I'm already spoiled. Flywheels are the only option if you want stable slides with less effort, like Syrp sliders. However, this parallax slider has the smoothest bearings and sliding of those without a flywheel. It's very slick and I'm sure it could be used consistently with practice. The parallax movement is nice too. The only problem is that the parallax rod has to be put back in place very carefully to get the slide to run straight again without parallax. While I would happily give this one a 5, I would say that I could only do so if the price was between $80-$90 then this build choice would be more than acceptable. However, I thank the manufacturer for this unique design.
