Revainrating 4 out of 5

This camera is interesting

I received this camera today and took some pictures to see if I liked it. I also ordered a SONY NEX-C3 and will compare and probably send it back. I haven't received it yet and will update when I get it. Just saying a few quick things: the camera is pretty compact and solid once you put the battery in the bay. My only big problem so far is how to hold it. I'm very scared I'll drop this thing when you hold it due to the lack of camera capture. I try to position my hands properly so as not to block the speaker (video only) or interfere with the flash. It's tempting to reach for the lens when carrying it, you almost have to as it's the camera's only stable part for hand positioning. But I can get used to it, I don't have big hands unfortunately (no Freudian thoughts please) and I still find it a bit difficult to hold it comfortably. The only thing I can't stress enough about this camera, and it can be, is why I will keep this camera regardless of the flash. To be able to hold back the flash so you can bounce light off the ceiling or anything else that changes the overall image quality. It's literally like day and night. When the flash fires directly at the subject, the image appears to become darker or less bright. I mean the picture is good either way but when you compare the two it's such a difference. This feature should be on every camera and in my opinion it was worth everything I paid for it for the quality of the shots. I'll update as I go and give this a 4 star rating until I do more testing. In terms of video, I'm still shooting in 1080i AVCHD and so far so good. / Off button More lens options Touchscreen Cons Difficult to hold - if you have big hands, take this into account. UPDATE: 11/04/2012 I've played around with this camera a bit more and really enjoy using it. The touchscreen is very cool when focusing on near and far objects. You just touch where you want to focus and press the button to take a photo and that's it. This is useful when there are objects near and far. I also shot some videos indoors with decent lighting and the video quality was very good. I am very happy that I bought this camera.
