Works great but the bottom is just lacquered brass. This would be the ideal antenna if made of brass as this is where the wind load puts the most stress on the antenna. Functionally I have no complaints Receives and transmits very well on our UHF repeater UPDATE: Looks like the bottom part is actually some kind of metal with paint on it It's a perfect match of 1.0 at 462.650MHz which our repeater uses Exit. The repeater outputs 6.6 watts on low settings on the third floor of a building and achieves phenomenal range. Time will tell how the antenna holds up to the outside elements. So far it works internally much better than expected. I am changing my rating to 5 stars. For the price, this antenna is hard to beat.
