A friend gave me the original Microplane years ago and I used it to grate citrus and grind everything from garlic cloves to Thai peppers. I didn't even know these flat graters existed until recently. I finally bought one and I really like it. Soon I will be buying "fine" and "very coarse" versions! I don't like how coarse it makes the lemon zest (you need a "fine" size for that), but it makes a nice garlic puree. I look forward to tomorrow when we saute some parmesan and some crusts of bread. Either they changed the adhesive on the labels or people who complained about it got a fake product. This is definitely the real deal and the labels on both the grate and lid came off clean and intact.
