Not compatible with all VESA compatible monitors

I bought two of these monitors to set up two large monitors. I've installed monitors many times and these have been some of the most difficult and frustrating things I've ever had to install. First, the monitor arm attaches directly to the monitor, there is no detachable arm like many other monitor arms. So you need to attach the bracket to the monitor first and hope you don't drop it while trying to insert the bracket into the base. Second, to adjust the vertical height of the monitor arm base, you need to remove the monitor arm. I found it very difficult to adjust and adjust the height of these monitor arms. Third, and perhaps most importantly for all Dell Ultrasharp owners, this mount does not support all VESA compatible monitors. The mount is cut just a few millimeters more than my Dell Ultrasharp monitor, which I've never seen before (see image). There is simply no way to mount the mount into an Ultrasharp VESA mount. Overall, I'm disappointed that there doesn't seem to be a better option for high-performance monitor arms because I think Ergotron has set the bar so damn low.

Pros
  • Compatible with PC and iMac monitors with built in VESA compatibility
Cons
  • Has defects
