First of all, this item is better described as a cable than a wire. It is very hard. If you don't attach it to the spool, it will unwind on its own. So if you're thinking of using it as picture wire and securing it by twisting it yourself, forget it. It will not work; The wire end sleeves supplied must be used. The problem is that the ferrules are too small. After wrestling with this for a while, I realized that the bushings needed to be reamed out with a 3/32" drill bit. If you do that, it works great. I would have no hesitation in using this cable on the heaviest mirrors or anywhere.
