So I wanted this to basically cook rice and pasta but I was a bit worried after a review saying it was awful to cook and that it burned horribly on the heating element Bottom. I decided to give it a try anyway, and damn I'm glad I did. This made it very easy to cook rice! I just followed the instructions in the booklet. The only thing that isn't specified, but should be clear to those preparing starchy foods, is that they need to be stirred often to keep them from burning. Rice and pasta will burn on ANY utensil if you don't mix them properly. I set a timer every 5 minutes and have no problem burning the rice. Can't wait to try the pasta. I will update this post as needed. Update: I really love this little pot and use it all the time. I cook pasta in it all the time and even cook hard boiled eggs in it. Almost anything that takes a long time to boil and boil water can be boiled in it
