My mother gave me this serger when it first came out in the 1990's and I have used it ever since. It's very easy to use, very easy to thread, uses whatever spools of thread you have, is lightweight, doesn't weigh much (maybe 3 pounds if that's the case), and is very portable. The only downsides I can think of are that it runs slowly, doesn't turn on the light while sewing, and doesn't cut the fabric like a larger serger. As it ages, the only downside that really bothers me is the light on the skin. I just turn on the gooseneck table lamp and shine it on the serger while using it. If I knew what I know now, would I buy it? Definitive!
