Installation nightmare

I am an experienced handyman. Installing those numbers in "embossed" about an inch or so from the mounting surface is a nightmare. As noted by others, some numbers are slightly different in size so they may not match exactly. I used "520" and "2" is not exactly the same as "5". Getting the correct spacing between numbers is very difficult as the numbers are patchy and require uneven spacing to look good. This is extremely difficult, (1) because the screw holes are also misplaced on the paper templates they sent, as others have said, and (2) because you have no idea what they will look like until you insert them . Location - after you have already set the location. There is also an issue with the correct hole size to use. Reviewers have previously commented that this bit size was too small (3/16 inch) for plastic inserts. I used 1/4" according to the instructions (which seem to have been changed) and it was too big. The design of the bracket/screw itself is a mess. The plastic inserts themselves are of poor quality and often disappear into the hole itself when the Screw being installed. Mine were 2 different types too just to add insult to injury. After a lot of cussing and 1 1/2 hours I came to an acceptable conclusion. The saving grace is that the numbers themselves look great assuming you can survive the installation. If I had to do it all over again I would ditch the plastic inserts and metal posts and just use the screws themselves and drill a smaller hole (1/8 inch) just for the screw to fit snugly (I used it on wood attached). You're still on your own as to how to line them up properly with each other. Flush mounting them makes it a lot easier, but doesn't look as good I guess. A lot Happiness.
