Review on Gamepad Microsoft Xbox One Controller, white by Somsak Saladang ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Satisfactory product quality, good price.

I didn’t write a review on a run, in the first days after purchases, I decided to first use it longer, so that the most objective opinion would be formed. I was looking for a suitable and inexpensive gamepad for Apple TV 4K and stopped my eyes on several models. Among them were PG-9188, Xbox One Controller, SteelSeries Nimbus. The Xbox One Controller has become the golden mean: it works, it is functional, and it is relatively inexpensive (3000 versus 6000 for the SteelSeries Nimbus). While not all tvOS features work, and not all apps and games support everything or this controller, it's worth buying if you occasionally play active games on Apple TV because it's more convenient than a remote. In particular, it is good for racing and playing Hungry Shark. After trying one remote, I bought a second one as I finally found at least two games for two: Riptide GP and Beach Buggy Racing.

Pros
  • 1. Works with Apple TV 4K. 2. Connects without any problems. 3. If you do not play a lot, then ordinary batteries will last for a long time. If you play a lot, then it might make sense to get batteries. Yes, and help the environment, because there is a lot of harm from batteries thrown into the trash can. 4. A pair of batteries, by the way, is included, do not rush to run to the store. 5. If you have an Xbox or just bought an Xbox One controller for Apple TV, then be aware that the set-top box supports more than one controller. 6. Games that support two or more players can use multiple controllers. I bought two to play with two. Unfortunately, there are very few such games. Write to game developers to implement the possibility of a local game for two or more players.
Cons
  • 1. If you want rechargeable batteries, not disposable batteries, you will have to go broke, because the gamepad does not have a built-in battery. Fortunately, the GP has a set of a charger and four batteries for about 1100-1500. (for example, the choice is yours). 2. The controller has a headphone jack, but it does not work with Apple TV. Well, okay. 3. At first there were glitches. After using the gamepad, the Apple TV remote often did not work properly: either the sensor did not work everywhere (for example, in multitasking mode), or some keys did not work. It was "treated" either by sending the set-top box to sleep mode, or by rebooting it. But after the tvOS ates, a lot seems to have been fixed, I no longer notice those glitches. 4. Gamepad does not work with all tvOS features. For example, it does not rewind videos in YouTube. The functionality varies from application to application: either it does not work at all, or it works partially, or it works within the limits set by the application / game. Yes, in some applications, even basic functions do not work or work very badly, for example, banal navigation through the menu. So the gamepad will not replace the remote control. For now, at least.
