I bought this in June 2017 for my daughter's 7th birthday. She really likes it, although to be honest we don't use all of the features (like the rewards tracking) on a regular basis. However, she uses the timer all the time. this is probably your favorite feature. In general it is very easy to use. However, after two months we had a very large patch of dead pixels in the center of the display. Googling this seems to be a fairly common issue with this product. This is disappointing as it is a clear design flaw. They recently released a newer version I assume to address quality control issues if nothing else. We currently have an open RMA with Garmin for a replacement unit. Hope one works better.
