I live on the 3rd floor so hauling litter and rubbish to the bins has become a challenge as my knees, hips and back can't with age work properly anymore. I needed something to store the compost waste and I used a 13 gallon bag in my small kitchen compost jar as the 3 gallon bag kept slipping into the jar which was too small to be useful. These are the only sizes you can get here. Glad to have found these 8 gallon packs that work so much better even after the jar is full it has to tie up a bit at the top. They are as strong and durable as any compost bag, they start to leak or tear (break down) after 3-4 days like any other compost bag, so this is nothing new. I stuff the full, tied bag into the bucket and slowly lower it to the compost heap. I try to do it twice a week but it's getting harder and harder for me to climb those stairs so it's often only once a week now. Love the size and it works just like these compostable bags.
