Many, many benefits and a few caveats

For some reason food science has become more of a religion these days. As if what the owner believes in magically makes the dog healthy. Dogs and their bodies cannot share our beliefs. I have used the Science Diet brand for over 30 years with different formulas for individual pets based on their needs. They are pretty fine. Great, actually. Eat the right amount of protein: They can digest and metabolize anything, and the excess doesn't pass through them or damage the kidney system or cause stones. Calcium is properly combined with other things to make it available to the dog. The amount I need to give for each meal is small enough that there is no risk of bloating, bloating or indigestion. In other words, it fits my dog's stomach comfortably when it expands with moisture. One pack lasts LONG because portion sizes are small due to nutrient density. It doesn't have "flavors" that dogs can't taste (they don't have taste buds like we do), or artificially added colors and shapes that dogs don't get excited about. I measure portions with an actual measuring cup so I know immediately if my dog is losing his appetite. to enjoy it more. I like to feed poultry because it's easier to digest, but lamb and turkey are high in tryptophan, which is calming and supports mental health. As far as ingredients go, I trust vets and canine nutritionists will agree, not what the average consumer thinks is good or what dogs choose from the range (Cheetos or brownies will probably really win with dogs). Grapes and raisins are good for us, but they can kill dogs. They are not like us. I trust this product because it is designed for dogs. Yes, "by-products" sounds harsh, and maybe it is, but remember that historically people have fed dogs offal and leftovers, not the best cuts. The dogs got what they got and ate what we ate and we were pretty poor. We taught them to help us hunt, but also not to kill and eat things, but to bring them to us or keep them in one place, even rats (because we wanted them to kill all rats, not only what they could eat). . These guys will eat feces and raw dead birds, maggots, and everyone in the yard if they can. Cooked and properly processed by-products aren't that gross. CONS: Science Diet uses Velcro on its smaller product packaging, such as B. for cats, so that the packaging can be closed again. This works very well to keep food fresh. Although I now transfer dog food to a different container I would love it if they put it in bags of all sizes. If you're buying this, it's best to roll it up and trim, put in large zippers, or get a container to keep it fresh (not stale). A NOTICE. If your dog is confirmed to be allergic to a certain grain, such as corn, a common culprit since this is the New World and was not there for most of the time humans created dogs, then this may not be for you. Even mixes with barley or rice sometimes contain corn products, so read labels carefully or visit dogfoodadvisor.com. Foods with limited ingredients may be the best option. Before you go crazy though, make sure you're not allergic to peas, which are commonly used in many grain-free products. Get help from your veterinarian
