I'm in love with these shorts. Not only do they have pockets on the legs, but they also have a secret pocket around the waist at the top. The pockets are big enough for my S10+ and just as long. Because things you put in your pocket aren't perfectly smooth, everything stays in place. Things that don't have elastic will pop out of the leg pockets with a lot of movement, but the waist pocket is great for stashing things that won't stay in place! Very stretchy and comfortable, I have 2 pairs and will probably buy more as I use them for work. I'm 5ft 8" and 185lbs and ordered the larger ones. I followed Revane's recommendation for a large size. Great fit. I prefer a tighter, more compressed fit in my workout gear. So if you are looking for a looser fit I would go up a size.
