My cat was horrified by the plastic cone we received from the vet after surgery to remove a large cyst in her abdomen. She almost didn't move and when she moved a crazy kitten ran into her, all scared. So I bought this soft cone and I'm glad I did. She is still shy when wearing it but is not as anxious and she sleeps better with it on. My cat is a small female - 7.5 pounds. The size SMALL fits her. Actually, I would have liked an XS variant - maybe I got this one instead. Though the cone stays, I worry that she'll pull Houdini out and somehow take it off while I'm not looking. I've tightened it as tight as I can and it wobbles a bit. But I will say that this is a success as it hasn't come out for 4 days now.
