So "ankle crew" is confusing in the naming of these socks. Are they high ankle socks or true crew socks? The answer. crew socks. I was expecting a higher ankle sock since they're supposed to be for running and there was no picture at the time I got the product. However, they are very nice socks. The sole, toes, and heel are definitely a thicker fabric than the rest of the sock, and the top of the foot is thinner (thin enough to kind of see through). I've worn these socks for walking in 50, 60, and 70 degree weather (thank you spring.). I find them very comfortable, I didn't notice them being too hot, and they did not smell at the end of the day. Overall I'm happy with their performance, and would get another pair like them. Hopefully I can get them in an ankle or no-show style so I can use them for running in shorts (I don't do crew socks with shorts.).
