Plug and play adapter with my MacBook Pro (MacbookPro11,2 model) running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2, but sometimes it loses network connectivity and I have to unplug and plug the adapter back in. It doesn't lose its network settings, but I can't ping the router or other computers on the network, or browse the web. Another big problem is that AirPlay audio streaming from MacBook Pro to Apple TV results in stuttering and choppy audio. Here's how everything is connected: [MacBook Pro] -> [Anker Adapter] -> [Gigabit Router/Switch] -> [Apple TV on 10/100 Ethernet]. So the whole setup is connected via ethernet and the airplay stream is stuttering. On the other hand, Wi-Fi streaming seems flawless. How do I know this problem is related to this Ethernet adapter? Because I also have an Apple Thunderbolt Gigabit Ethernet Adapter and Airplay works fine. Someone also mentioned problems using IPv6. Well I disabled that temporarily and that didn't seem to help either. Update (March 18, 2015): Anker Support directed me to apply a driver fix for OS X here (http://www.ianker.com/support/A7610011). ), which appears to have disconnects and airplay stuttering. Apparently the adapter used Realtek's built-in OS X drivers, which are probably outdated or not optimized for the Anker adapter. After applying the patch, Network Utility no longer identifies the adapter (en5) as an Apple adapter, but instead identifies the manufacturer: Realtek and the model: Realtek USB GBE Family Controller. The adapter makes a stable impression, Airplay works smoothly and the LAN transmission is very fast. Definitely a lot cheaper and more versatile than buying a $29 Apple Thunderbolt Ethernet Adapter. However, OS X users are highly recommended to apply the driver patch for better performance.
