The stem does not have a raised flat end that operates the brake light switch. Use your old stock (have fun pulling it out of your old cylinder). This unit ships without the stem installed. DO NOT install a new stem as the clip will not want to come back once installed. Just reuse the old rod. If you use the bar included in the kit, your brake lights will never go out.
