Matching spice jars

It might seem like a joke that someone has enough free time to arrange spice jars. But when you're cooking, what's wrong with finding the spices you need? My husband loves to cook and despite the rotating spice rack on the counter next to the stove, we also have jars and spice jars in the cupboard. They come in all shapes and sizes and don't use space efficiently. Space is always valuable so I decided to order this set and start making empty closet space by combining glasses. Mission almost accomplished. After running the jars through the dishwasher and hand-washing the lids and inner plastic lids of the shakers, I was ready to fill. The included silicone funnel makes it really easy to pour the spices into the jars. My only area of dissatisfaction is with a white pen to write on blank black labels. Even after a period of time, the white ink does not settle to a permanent state. When touching the handwritten labels leaves just a minimal amount of oil on your fingers, your print is done! There are plenty of pre-printed labels, which is great, but not all spices are already printed for you. If you need to reposition the label, it's almost thrown away and you'll have to handwrite the replacement. If I could think of a thin, clear sticky label to seal the handwritten ones, I would stick them so the writing stays in place. Anyone have any suggestions for this option?
