Review on ๐Ÿ”ช Red Devil 102370: The Ultimate Glass Cutter for Professional Results by Doris Tran

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I didn't measure twice and didn't order once.

I bought a glass aquarium lid online and was sure I knew the dimensions needed. I was ยผ inch off (insert palm here). Since it was impossible to return, I knew I needed a glass cutter. It was the same brand I remembered using on a construction project I was working on a few decades ago, so I ordered it and received it very quickly. I knew it would be difficult to cut just ยผ inch from the edge of the two-piece lid, especially since the hinge prevents me from placing the jar on my work table. I've watched a few YouTube videos on the subject and found two that involved cutting a small piece of glass so it doesn't become one big piece. It's not just a score and a click like big chunks. Using instructions on YouTube, I learned how to score and then tap the bottom of the score line with the small ball at the end while applying light pressure to the top. and gently bend the cutting line into a running tear that can be broken off with pliers. It was a fairly clean edge but needed to be smoothed out a little with a piece of coarse sandpaper and some help with a Dremel sanding drum.

Pros
  • Cutting tools
Cons
  • Base required
