The main thing I liked about this privacy screen is that it's cheaper than most others I've found. I need this for my school exams and it helps. I sit in an exam room with a hundred other people and see no difference in quality between this and most others. The glue held. Perhaps it's important to note that I keep the privacy screen on 24/7 so longevity can be improved. As with all privacy screens, viewing angle is important. If someone is standing directly behind you, they can see what you are doing. But when someone is 2 feet away from you, they only see black. In terms of battery life? I assume he's asking because you probably want to increase the brightness with the screen protector on. The screen is noticeably dimmer to you when you use it, but not to the point where you can't see the screen. And honestly, the darker you can control the screen, the less likely it is that other people will be able to see what you're doing (darker for you, darker for everyone else). I can still use this laptop to watch YouTube videos, read news articles, and more. It didn't affect usability at all.
