Review on LDG Electronics Z 100PLUS Automatic Warranty by Scott Welch

I researched antenna tuners for a few weeks before settling on the LDG Z-100Plus. Looks like I made the right choice. Establishes itself quickly over the entire KW range (160-10 m). This tuner is designed to work no more than 100 watts! Tuning must be done at LOW power! In my application with an inverted V antenna and a long wire antenna, the SWR was always 1.3:1 or less. The initial frequency tuning takes about 4 seconds and is saved. The tuning speed is much faster than other tuners I've used. No doubt it's a great tuner for a 100w mobile setup or for field work, but I'm going to install it on a sailboat using Balum, about 38ft of wire for the antenna and counterpoise. I will update this review as needed. NOTE: If you are using an SWR/Watt meter, it must be inserted between the radio and tuner to get a correct SWR measurement, NOT between the tuner and the antenna!
