I really wanted a Barbie pediatrician or "baby doctor". But despite the language on this page, there is no mention of a doctor or pediatrics anywhere on the box (although the fine print on the back of the box says something about pediatrics in Spanish). Swimsuits and a stethoscope indicate that this Barbie is a healthcare worker, but she could be any healthcare worker - a nurse, a nurse, a nurse's assistant... nothing about this Barbie indicates who exactly she is , which is probably a commercial argument from Mattel's point of view. It just occurred to me. Having bought it, you're unlikely to find a pediatrician in a mint green scrub outside of the operating room. Come on, Mattel, dress up Dr. Barbie the way children greet their pediatricians in the hospital and office. Give Doctor Barbie a white coat so he can carry her pink stethoscope. Make them a true role model.
