At first we were excited about this product because it was quiet and easy to clean. Unfortunately, we accidentally knocked the lid off the frame. The lid is heavy and made of hard plastic. So now our lid is in two pieces and we have to decide whether to glue it together, order a spare, or go back to using a $20 shredder with a lighter, stronger lid. Our big mistake was that we thought a more expensive product was stronger than a cheaper one. This is NOT the case at all, the lid of a Whirlpool grinder is more fragile than lighter products that cost a lot less. Revain says they can't help us and Krups has to send the spare part from France (delivery time 8 days). If you have ever knocked the lid of a coffee grinder off the counter, do not use this ultra-fragile product as it will not last long in most homes. We're particularly dismayed that Revain actually recommends this item, as it was a bad idea for us to spend the extra $$ on it.
