Difficult if all you care about is a light show on your desk

Let's start with the pros as there are so few of them. RGB is great thanks to its translucent body. This is a light show on your desk. Swap out the standard keycaps for pudding keycaps and you've got an even crazier light show. Okay, here are the nasty issues that make this a lousy buy - even at a low price. Even if you are new to mechanical keyboards, this keyboard is very affordable. The switches are not latched onto the circuit board. If you turn the keyboard upside down, the keycaps and switches will fall out. Surprisingly, Womyer found this acceptable. Mine wasn't broken. I've since read how this board works. I have had many mechanical keyboards, some cheap, some expensive - that would not be acceptable in any price range. Another annoying side effect of loose switches is that something as simple as changing keycaps doubles the work. Since the switches do not snap onto the circuit board, when you pull the cap, pull out the switch as well. Now you need to put the switch back in (be careful not to bend those switch pins) and then put on the new cap. lol WTF? - My case was not flush on the sides. Three layers of acrylic glued together. My middle layer wasn't as big as the others and the sides were uneven as a result. - Keycaps are not of very good quality. However, given the price, this is not surprising. If you keep this board, you can find better quality pudding caps to increase the RGB effect. Stabilizer bars are noisy and rattle. Again, this isn't a surprise for a budget board, but you'll have to add another $25 for decent bumps and lube if you're not okay with those bumps. - This is sold as a 60% board. It is not. General. This is the 65% board. Just clarifying this for those who are new to mechanical keyboards. However, I sent mine back. RGB kicks ass, but other issues annoyed me too much as I like to change switches/keycaps frequently. And the quality level of this board didn't inspire confidence that it would last. For the price, you'd be better off getting the Keychron K6. I've owned this board and it's solid. Obviously RGB doesn't suit Womier, but there aren't many boards in every price range. At least Womier has a function.

Pros
  • Amazing RGB gaming keyboard + drive-free setup
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
