Review on 🌬️ Silent Cooling Power: Dark Rock Pro 4 CPU Cooler with 250W TDP, BK022 by Darryl Montagna

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Massive, quiet cooler - a bit disappointing

Pros: - Black finish - It's quiet (although still audible) - Keeps Ryzen 2700x cool (mostly) Cons: - EXPENSIVE - Doesn't work Doesn't work as advertised below Last - Scratches easily - Even with the new mounting system, installation is difficult although I bought this cooler to replace the stock AMD RGB Prism cooler. It was noisy and I saw the temperature go over 80 degrees Celsius a couple of times so I found this one and ordered it. Installation was easy, however I had to take the motherboard out of the case to install this cooler. I had no problems with the RAM gap. I installed the fans - all went well but it damaged the black finish on the fins (nothing a permanent black marker could fix). Now the computer looks great - it matches the black and red colors of MSI. Most importantly, I didn't have to hear the howl of the stock cooler - however, this didn't solve all the problems with my processor's temperature. Attached are some photos below: - HW monitor after 20 minutes Prime95 torture test (closed case - Radeon idle temp) - Final build EDIT: I saw 76 degrees Celsius in the Unigine test while running Prime95.

Pros
  • Fans and cooling
Cons
  • Skimpy manual
