Review on Portable Super Antenna MP1DXMAX with Low Profile Tripod: Covers 80m-10m HF and 2m VHF with Go Bags for Amateur Ham Radio Use by Russell Smith

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works better Now fits AV accessories

Update: The issue I reported in my original review (see below) was caused when I installed an ER1B extension while running on HF added. I have read the instructions several times and assume that the ER1B extension is used for 2M. I have not used the antenna for anything other than HF and it works fine on HF with my LDG tuner. I have not used it without a tuner. I have raised my rating from 2 to 4 stars. I received the antenna yesterday and worked with it all day and last night. The antenna was purchased to work on 80 and 40 meters. I spent most of my time on 80m with the MC80 and radials installed. I was able to tune it to 3.6MHz with my LDG tuner, but not 3.95MHz (FL's emergency grid frequency). I am returning to Panama City tomorrow (Hurricane Michael) and wanted to get this antenna working, mainly for digital work to get emails about Winmore and Vara. I will be contacting and working with support today before heading out tomorrow morning. That's a really good antenna. but if that doesn't work with my setup I will use a dipole.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • I will add later
