The replacement timepiece was found to have the same flaw—it treated a wave of the hand like a step. This is possibly a characteristic of the new timepieces in the "NEW" series. Hand movements are not included for watches purchased more than a month ago (without the "NEW" label). I as a result gave the watch back to the shop and got my money.
