My wife started a juicing program recommended by her doctor. So we bought it for like $100 and two months later we put it aside and bought a Breville - what's the difference. If you don't know, Jack Lalanne's juicer will do, but it often seems to have problems. Carrots kept turning sideways and getting stuck. The blade is not sharp enough or not big enough. We cleaned it every time and the performance kept getting worse. We had to work so hard to get the juice that we gave up. We heard about Breville juicers and watched a video of Martha Stewart using them on her show. We were sold immediately. Breville runs more than twice as fast as Lalanne and can only be described as "explosive". Large carrots that would juice in 30 seconds in LaLanne would turn into juice in two to three seconds in Breville. Breville has a lot more industrial strength, is easier to clean, and just works and works well. You should take your jewelry off before using this thing, if the ring slips off I'm sure you'll have precious metal juice within seconds. Don't waste your time and money with this Lalanne.
